Hi Everyone

 

I hope you all had a really good Christmas and New Year and expect you are now looking forward to dancing your way through 2025.

 

Well our first Tea Dance of the year takes place this coming Sunday, 19^th January at the Somerset Hall in Portishead. 

Diane (Isaac) will be there from 2.30pm to give some free tuition until the start of the Tea Dance at 3pm. 

This month Diane will be teaching the Viennese Swing. 

The music will be in the hands of Mark Helmore through until 6pm with a break at 4.15pm for tea and cake. 

The kitchen this month is in the capable hands of Clive and Annette, assisted by Martin and Nyree.  Our grateful thanks go to these 4 and also to those who are baking cakes this time. 

 

If you feel you are able to assist in any way at future dances then please let me know. 

 

Do remember that we have our loyalty scheme in place, whereby once you have attended 5 tea dances, then the 6th one is free. 

I have attached a booking form should you wish to purchase your tickets in advance at the reduced price. 

We are thankful to Mark for stepping in at the last minute to provide the music this Sunday as it was to be Geoff Ward who was originally booked. 

However you will all be very saddened to hear that tragically Geoff’s lovely wife, Diane, died suddenly last Friday.  Geoff has decided to step back from providing the music for the foreseeable future.

 I am sure you will all join me in sending our most heartfelt sympathies to Geoff and his family at this very sad time, and really hope that you will feel able to join us again in the future.

 

Our Tuesday practice evenings continue at the Somerset Hall from 8pm to 10pm  with the exception of Tuesday, March 25th.

 

The annual general meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 18^th March so if you have items for the agenda, or wish to be nominated to serve on the committee, then do let me know please.
